seeing as ure a ranger u'd either want a longbow/flatbow for range and shortbow
or halfmoon or any other short range bow for that matter... make sure you always have 1 for short and close combat and ure pretty good one the way to a good ranger ^^

Brutal, you'll find a decent half-moon when you hit the desert most likely, maybe even a rare. For your distance bow, unless you find a nice one, the collector outside Port Sledge (when you get there) has a nice looking Ascalon Bow which you could mod with any decent upgrades to be the last bow you ever need.

Yeah, definetly pick up a shortbow in case the monsters get too close. Shortbows have low range, but they shoot a lot faster

Here are my bows, the trick is to either go for collecters, or if buying the gold max things, don't get 15% or 14% mods, they are insanely expensive. 13% while health is above 50% is a significant price drop. The ascalon bow in pic is the mineral springs shortbow. I'm going to get another one some time and shove a zealous string on it.

You're the man Puddin for customizing those bows for yourself. Alot of folks wouldn't do that.

Many wouldn't, but would. I customized a Shortbow I got from a lucky Lornar's Pass drop. Zombies, beware! (15-28 Earth damage, +10% vs. Undead. I know it's not the best, but it *is* just a backup weapon)

I got 3 of those collector ascalon bows : short bow, long bow and composite bow version. They're basically all i ever need (with the right mods). One for fastest shooting (short), one for quickest time of flight (composite) and one for longest range (long).
The composite bow is nice for pinning down runners in pvp or if you're using oath shot since you don't want that oath shot misses, do you ?
Might be a good idea to color them since they all look the same

On the comment on customizing : what's the point in having a bow with +1x% if you don't customize it ?
